Kenya Airways Press Release

Kenya Airways appoints Cargo GSA’s in Rome and Geneva for its new routes

June 6th 2019

National carrier, Kenya Airways has appointed GACSA as the Cargo GSA in Geneva with Swissport providing the warehouse element. In Rome Air Cargo I.A.S has been appointed GSA and the warehouse appointment will be XPH.

Both will provide cargo services for Kenya Airways new flights from Rome and Geneva to Nairobi, Kenya from 13th June 2019.

Kenya Airways is launching flights from Nairobi to Rome-Italy and Geneva-Switzerland, on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet four time a week starting in June this year, with a cargo capacity of 16,000 kilos.

“The addition of flights to Rome and Geneva will be welcomed by our business customers. Rome with its status of a ‘global city’ and Geneva which hosts the highest number of international organizations in the world, such as the United Nation (UN), making it a global hub for diplomacy. It is a perfect complement to Nairobi which is also Africa’s hub for UN among other international agencies”, said Kenya Airways Area Cargo Manager, Katrina Hanson.

Kenya Airways previously operated to Rome and with the resumption of flights plus the addition of Geneva, this will bring the destinations Kenya Airways serves in Europe to 5 and 55 worldwide.  With this route, Kenya Airways will offer excellent connections from these two cities to its 43 destinations across Africa,

Commenting on the new contract Herve Alzina, Managing Director GACSA Ltd said:

”This is a proud day not only for GACSA Ltd but also for Air Cargo IAS in Rome to be selected as GSAs for such a progressive and ambitious major African carrier.
This new service will open up both the Swiss and Italian markets to and beyond the African major gateway of Nairobi. Both myself and Cristina Coderoni of Air Cargo IAS can state without a fear of contradiction this collaboration will not only be for the mutual benefit of our joint companies but for the extended success of the business community as a whole”.
